Alternative Fuels – It’s Time to Change
Alternative Fuels researchers are developing numerous methods in which we may be able to entirely substitute or cut back the amount of gas and diesel that we presently use in our cars and trucks, therefore our vehicles exhaust emmissions will be cleaner, producing less pollution, we will get better fuel efficiency which can help in reducing a lot of our transportation expenses.
Many people use alternative fuels to power their vehicles in addition to providing electricity to their homes, offices and many commercial buildings. This helps the environment as well as having a huge financial benefit for many people, communities and business.
We all know by now that the burning of fossil fuels has lead to climate change from the pollutants that are pumped into the atmosphere and it won’t be long before we won’t be able to tell the difference between the four seasons.

Electricity is being used to power vehicles, called hybrids. Electric batteries provide the electricity used to power these vehicles. The batteries are charged from electricity that is produced at a power plant. The downside here is that as an alternative fuel we still need to use Power plants that use fossil fuels to produce the electricity.

A majority of biofuels are made up of community and manufacturing waste. Biodiesel is a clean burning alternative fuel produced from renewable resources. Biodiesel doesn’t contain petroleum, but can be mixed at any degree with diesel to produce a biodiesel blend. It is also used in compressionignition (diesel) engines with no major alterations. Biodiesel is easy to use, biodegradable, nonpoisonous, and basically free of sulphur and aromatics.

Methanol takes place naturally in the environment because of natural action* put through by vegetation, microorganisms, and other living species. Processes that use natural gas as a feedstock produce methanol. The alternative Methanol fuel is known as M-85.

Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG). LPG is mainly made up of butylenes, butane, propylene and propane in several blends. In the processing and refinement of natural gas and petroleum, LPG is produced as a by-product. LPG can also be developed locally, consequently, decreasing our dependence on foreign trade for our fuel needs.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells – Hydrogen is a multipurpose energy carrier that can be used to power nearly every end-use energy need. The fuel cell is an energy changeover device that can effectively harness and use the power of hydrogen.

Hydrogen Powered Cars use electricity from your car’s battery to convert water into a gas called HHO (two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom). HHO is also known as Brown’s Gas or Hydroxy, and it helps in the complete combustion of fossil fuels such as gasoline and diesel, producing a dramatic increase in power and cleaner exhaust emmissions.
Huge amounts of energy can be harnessed if we only look to research and develop the different alternative fuel technologies that are available. We need to move away from toxic fossil fuels and the old electrical power systems by turning to alternatives fuels and energy and take advantage of these resources.
With a constantly changing world and the major concern for Global Warming we need to stop pumping toxins into the air and really consider the way in which we live our lives. Looking at the facts about alternative fuels, it becomes very obvious that if we start thinking seriously about using these fuels, there is a very good chance we can undo some of the damage we have already done.
The list above has outlined quite a few common alternative fuels that are run in conjunction with or can completely replace gasoline. The use of alternative fuels will help improve the condition of the environment and our own health. This will also help to reduce our dependence on other countries to provide us with fuel, the end result being, we will all enjoy lower fuel costs.
